Anne Bland

Anne Bland is a social entrepreneur, and heads the operations of Social Business International in Finland. Anne was first introduced to social enterprise in 1996 when, with some other people, she founded a worker co-operative. The values of the co-op movement resonated with her own and she soon became a co-operative adviser.

The first social enterprise conference, organised by Social Enterprise London in 1999, opened the breadth and width of social enterprise movement to her. The heartwarming stories of pioneering leaders of social entreprises and their “can-do” attitude have ever since been inspiring her. Anne has nearly 15 years of experience in the third sector and adult education, having worked both in London and Helsinki and is now supporting new ways of delivering public services and the regeneration of rural and run-down areas.
At the moment, the SBI helps the central government and local authorities to develop social enterprise concept and strategies in Finland. Her website is www.socialbusinessint.com.
