Who can participate?
Participation is open to any individual developer or organization, from the public and private sector. Participants from outside Flanders are welcome, but the applications must be usable in Flanders. Each participants can submit more than one application.
Which applications are admissible?
- Websites, widgets, mashups, APIs, standalone applications, applications for mobile devices.
- They have to be developed on purpose for this prize.
- They have to contribute to solve collective and social problems, in a wide and non-restrictive sense. They can for example facilitate transport, promote health, protect the environment, ensure government accountability. See inspiring examples here
- They have to be available and usable by Flemish citizens, at least as working prototypes.
- They can be open source or not, with no preference for platform and technologies.
Evaluation criteria
An independent jury will select the top 10 projects and the winner, based on the following criteria:
Criterion 1: Usefulness to the citizens, visitors and government of Flanders
Your application will be rated on a scale from 0 to 5 points
Minimum level of acceptance: 2
Criterion 2: Appeal of the application from a design and usability perspective
Your application will be rated on a scale from 0 to 5 points
Minimum level of acceptance: 2
Criterion 3: Inventive and original nature of the application
Your application will be rated on a scale from 0 to 5 points
Minimum level of acceptance: 2
How to participate?
You can submit your application here. You are encouraged to post also a short demo movie, in order to make the jury appreciate better your application. But this is not an obligation.
